Joe Briggs

Global Head of Partnerships, Amazon

Joe Briggs, Esq. has more than 20 years of experience in public policy, education, and advocacy, and is a veteran sports lawyer, tech executive, and professor.

Briggs was a scholarship athlete during his undergraduate experience at Texas Christian University where he became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He continued his studies by earning a Master’s Degree at Florida A&M University and a law degree from the FSU College of Law, graduating with distinction and honors for his service.

Mr. Briggs currently serves as the global head of executive engagement at Amazon, leading the creation of inclusive experiences with technology across the entire enterprise And with key external partners. His previous roles included Special Assistant to the President at Florida A&M University (FAMU) before law school, and as a legal fellow in the United States Senate after.

His last stop before Amazon was the NFL Players Association where his responsibilities included leading their government relations shop and serving as senior counsel for the men now seen on Thursday night’s Amazon Prime broadcasts. In addition, Briggs remains a professor at both Georgetown and University of Kansas School of Law and a consultant on sports and ethics topics around the globe.
