Silky Misra
Senior Director of Housing & Community Development, National Urban League
As the Senior Director of Housing & Community Development at National Urban League (NUL), Silky Misra spearheads nationwide initiatives that provide comprehensive housing counseling and asset-building services to low- and moderate-income communities. She is deeply passionate about empowering communities of color to overcome obstacles, achieve economic equality, and create sustainable communities. Prior to joining NUL, Silky served as the Neighborhood & Housing Preservation Specialist at Chhaya Community Development Corporation, a community-based organization that works on housing and immigrant rights of the South Asian community in New York City. Silky also has experience working with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs to advance their global research on e-Government initiatives. Silky earned her Master’s in Urban Planning from State University of New York at Buffalo and has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from India.
