Henry Wannamaker

Psychotherapist, The Guidance Center of Westchester

Henry Wanamaker is currently employed by The Guidance Center of Westchester as a psychotherapist providing individual, group and family therapy services for the New Rochelle Clinic and Yonkers Probation. He previously worked at an alternative to incarceration (ATI) residential program as a program director for the Youth Shelter Program of Westchester, and as a clinician for the PINS diversion program with Lexington Center for Recovery. Henry also worked previously as an HIV/AIDS community education supervisor in 9 NY State Prisons. Henry Wanamaker serves on the board of directors for the New York Hampton Alumni Club as the chaplain for the chapter. He leads the monthly prayer line service and also will follow up with the bereavement and other spiritual needs of the chapter members.

Henry currently serves on the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) New Rochelle Advisory Board as the chairperson for the MBK New Rochelle milestone 6 committee. This committee is dedicated to ensuring “all youth are given second chances in life and remain free from violent crime in the community.” He also previously served on the Yonkers SNUG advisory board reduce criminal activity and gun violence in the community through credible messengers.

Henry was also a mentor for youth involved in the Opportunity Youth Part ATI program led by Judge Jared Rice for 18-24 year-olds processed in the New Rochelle Criminal Court. In 2021, the Monroe College School of Criminal and Social Justice recognized Henry for his work in the community during their Community Heroes Black History Month event.

Henry Wanamaker is a graduate Hampton University B.A. in Psychology, Fordham University MSW, and Nyack Alliance Theological Seminary, M.Div. He is also an ordained Baptist minister. Henry has a passion for all sports and loves to laugh. His mission is to motivate, educate and believe in others while advocating for their needs to achieve their goals. Henry is married with two sons.
