Marquez Claxton
Marquez (Marq) Claxton was born and raised in New York City. He is a retired NYPD Detective & 9/11 World Trade Center First Responder. Marq enjoyed a successful 20-year Police career which included uniformed, plainclothes & undercover city-wide assignments in the Organized Crime Control Bureau & the Detective Bureau. Marq has owned and operated 2 private investigations & security companies. Marq is a former Director of Safety & Security for Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina (HBCU) and currently serves as the Director of Safety & Security for Richland CountySchool District Two in the capital city-Columbia, SC. which serves 42 schools and over 28000 students.
Marq's commitment to human rights and social justice is firm. He is a lifetime member of the NAACP, a founding member & former spokesperson for 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care' & currently the Director of Political Affairs & Public Relations for the 'BLACK LAW ENFORCEMENT ALLIANCE' (B.L.E.A.). As the spokesperson for B.L.E.A. Marq is a frequent guest and contributor on many national television news & information channels.
Marg is a Board member for 'The Ujima Group'- a South Carolina based 501c3 focusing on providing support and information to vulnerable youth. Marg is married & has three children.
