Big Dreams and Bigger Ambition

Ryan Fuqua felt his life as a driver for Lyft offered little in the way of a future, and no chance to provide a good life for his family. His search for a new career led him to the Urban Tech Jobs Program at the Indianapolis Urban League, where he chose to study Information Technology.

He quickly exceeded his goal of earning an Industry Recognized Credential by achieving two certifications; CompTIA A+ and Amazon Web Services (AWS), both of which are highly desired for IT positions.

Ryan was immediately offered employment as an instructor at New Beginnings Computer Training, LLC, where CEO was impressed with his drive and ambition. Ryan truly loved instructing other students and helping them achieve their goals.

With his newly-boosted confidence, Ryan said his dreams are “more real.”  He’s now able to envision a new career path that was unthinkable without the assistance and guidance of the Indianapolis Urban League staff.  “You saved my career,” he said. “You gave me the skills to thrive.”
