Ray Shackelford

Ray B. Shackelford is a native Houstonian & community leader who strives to make a difference in the lives of others. He received his B.A. in Business Administration - Finance from Morehouse College and his M.B.A. from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at University of Houston. Ray has been a member of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) for more than eleven years and now serves as its 10th National President. In addition to his role as a volunteer leader within NULYP locally Ray serves as the youngest member of the Houston Housing Finance Corporation (HHFC).

On the board of HHFC they focus on working with local developers to provide gap financing for quality affordable housing and projects that benefit the community and all of its stakeholders. In his professional endeavors he has worked in education, non-profit, and the private sector. In August of 2019 he started his own consulting firm, "Ozark St" focused on DEI & Public Engagement. In his consulting practice his goal is to work with corporate clients and entrepreneurs to implement strategies and create programs that drive substantive change in the community. Ray wears a lot of hats, but none is more important to him than the hat of “father.” He is the proud father of a ten-year-old daughter, Jordan.
