Kenya George

Mid-Atlantic Program Director, BUILD

Kenya George is a nonprofit executive, strategist, community leader, and wellness practitioner with more than 15 years of experience advancing opportunities for young people, families, educators, and communities. A proud daughter of The Bronx, Kenya has built her career at the intersection of youth development, education, community engagement, and social impact.

She currently serves as Mid-Atlantic Program Director at BUILD, where she leads regional program strategy and implementation, cultivates cross-sector partnerships, develops educators and teams, and creates opportunities that prepare young people to lead, innovate, and thrive.

At the heart of Kenya’s leadership is a belief in love as both a value and a strategy—and in creating environments where people feel seen, valued, equipped, and connected to their own power and possibility. A trained social worker and wellness practitioner, she is particularly interested in the intersection of leadership, community care, healing, and holistic well-being.

Kenya holds a Master of Social Work from Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work and a B.A. in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
