Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, National Urban League

Dennis is the Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer at the National Urban League (NUL), where he oversees strategic fundraising, recruitment, and relationship management with the Board of Trustees and coalition partners. With over 30 years in board management, fundraising, business development, and strategic planning, Dennis brings extensive expertise to his role.

During his 17-year tenure at the NUL, Dennis has secured over $1 billion in funding for the organization's policy, advocacy, and programmatic work. He led the most successful fundraising campaign for a Black institution in the U.S., raising funds for the NUL's centennial in 2010. Currently, he is spearheading a $100 million capital campaign for a new building in Harlem, NY, which will house New York City's first Civil Rights Museum, retail tenants like Target and Trader Joe's, and provide office space for organizations such as UNCF and 100 Black Men. The building will also include over 170 units of affordable housing.

Dennis has developed initiatives to support the Urban League movement, including an affiliate fundraising support platform that offers daily support and resources for CEOs and development staff. As Chair of the Board for the N.U.L. Federal Credit Union, he is collaborating with NUL's CDFI to launch a banking solution benefiting constituents, members, and small businesses nationwide.

Under Dennis' leadership, the NUL has experienced transformative growth. He has expanded legacy partnerships and forged new relationships to diversify revenue streams for both the national office and its 92 local affiliates, enhancing revenue sources across corporate, individual, and institutional channels.
