Narda Jones

Founder & Principal, Acacia Hill Strategies

Narda M. Jones is a technology and public policy leader with more than two decades of experience advancing innovation, equity, and democratic governance across government and civil society. She is the Founder and Principal of Acacia Hill Strategies, where she advises corporations, nonprofits, and academic institutions on AI governance, broadband and infrastructure policy, national security, public safety, cybersecurity, and the design of technology policy frameworks that align innovation with public interest outcomes. She also serves as a Senior Fellow at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, where her work focuses on the intersection of technology, economic opportunity, and equity.

Jones previously served as Chief of Staff to the Chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission, where she was a senior advisor on broadband, AI, national security, public safety, and public-interest technology strategy. In that role, she oversaw coordination across Executive Branch agencies, the White House, Congress, state regulators, and industry stakeholders to advance national connectivity and technology priorities.

Before that, she served as Director of Legislative Affairs at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where she led cross-agency coordination and built bipartisan support for the Administration’s AI, innovation, research, cybersecurity, and workforce agenda. She also served as Senior Technology Policy Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and as Senior Legislative Counsel to Senator Maria Cantwell.

Earlier in her career at the FCC, Jones led international telecommunications negotiations and directed Universal Service Fund policy initiatives to expand connectivity for schools, libraries, and rural communities. She began her legal career in public service in Minnesota.

Jones writes and speaks on the intersection of technology, workforce equity, national security, and democratic accountability. She holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. in Government from Wesleyan University.
