NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE HONORS SUPERMODEL/COSMETICS ENTREPRENEUR IMAN WITH ONE OF ITS HIGHEST HONORS

New York, NY, Nov. 9, 1999During its annual Equal Opportunity Day (EOD) Dinner, held here tonight at PIER SIXTY, the National Urban League is honoring Imanworld-renowned human rights activist, founder and president of IMAN Cosmetics, and former supermodelwith its prestigious Humanitarian Award.
The organization is recognizing Iman for her numerous philanthropic efforts, most notably her work for famine relief on behalf of her country, Somalia. In addition, Iman is an Advisory Committee Member for Rosie ODonnells For All Kids Foundation, and an Advisory Board Member of the Childrens Defense Fund. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Action Against Hunger, the American headquarters of an international network of humanitarian, non-governmental, non-religious, relief and development organizations.
Co-emcees for the awards ceremony are NBCs Today Show Al Roker, and his wife, ABCs 20/20 Correspondent Deborah Roberts. National Football League Commissioner Paul Tagliabue is the Dinner Chair. A special reception at 6:00 p.m. precedes the dinner, which follows immediately at 7:00 p.m.
In other National Urban League EOD awards news, Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC) and the Bell Atlantic Foundation are slated to receive the organizations Corporate Leadership Award. The League is also recognizing Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. managing director William M. Lewis with its Outstanding Community Service Award, and Temple University Presidential Scholar Dr. Bernard C. Watson with its Special Recognition Award.
